“The Audi e-tron is definitely a highlight in the history of our company and the starting signal for our electrification strategy,” said Peter Mertens, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at AUDI AG.
This strategy will see a whopping 12 new all-electric drive models on the road by 2025. Following the e-tron will be the e-tron Sportback SUV debuting next year. But before the year is out, Audi will also present yet another concept showcar packed with future-forward innovation: The e-tron GT, a highly dynamic coupe developed jointly with Porsche.
The collaboration comes in the wake of collaboration between fellow Volkswagen Group brands to develop the Modular Electrification Platform, which is a system for electronic car manufacturing that will form the basis for a series of Audi e-models.
