Covering a total area of more than 10,000 square metres, the Audi Summit is the latest convention to showcase the future of the brand. Held on 11 July 2017, the marquee event brings key players from media, finance, trade and others to Barcelona to experience the future of urban mobility.

The star of the day will be the flagship Audi A8 – the first production car with autonomous capabilities. For the first time, drivers will be able to take their hands off the wheel in traffic jams at speeds up to 60 km/h. It will be the forerunner for the Audi AI technology promise: The car of the future that will make its occupants’ life easier with the help of artificial intelligence.

The exhibition will also feature two segments: A one-hour product presentation with 70 automobiles and a brand experience world where visitors will have access to exciting new concepts, exhibits and talks on mobility, AI, and the smart factory of the future.

It’s only fitting that Barcelona will play host to this pioneering showcase. Audi specifically selected the Catalonian capital for its special quality of urban life. The Spanish metropolis has been a pioneer in smart-city concepts, especially with modes of transportation – buses, trains, taxis and cars – that has enhanced the city’s attractiveness.

The event also underscores the premium brand’s move to develop its Vorsprung far beyond the products themselves. On the way to becoming the premium digital car company, Audi has been increasingly applying digital technologies to develop sustainable solutions for urban mobility.

How will car production work without assembly lines? How can a car be digitally configured and tried out virtually? And how is Audi intensifying its social engagement by applying new technologies for environmental protection and sustainability?
