Whether it is installing a replacement bumper after a fender bender or panel beating and re-spraying for a bigger shunt, Nora Khai, Claims Manager at Audi Centre Singapore, ensures that every job is performed perfectly, speedily.
At the new Audi body shop in Singapore’s industrial west, she explains how the new facility consolidates the insurance survey, body repair and paint shop functions under one roof.
The centre is now bigger, with 27 work bays comprising 14 hoist repair bays, four non-hoist bays, seven preparation bays and two paint booths. The workforce has also been increased by a third, and Audi has continued to recruit and train specialists to further increase capacity. The result: The facility is now capable of handling 40 to 50 vehicles daily—30 to 60 per cent more vehicles on average.
Nora takes us through the new facility, which has been in operation since February after 10 months of renovations. Like a production line in a vehicle factory, the bays are logically placed so that the vehicle can be easily wheeled or driven from task to task.
